CLIENT RELATION SPECIALISTS

Client relation specialists play a very important role at Best Friends Veterinary Center. Individuals that are outgoing, well organized think and communicate well, are highly encouraged to apply for this position. Must be available some evenings, some Saturdays and have some veterinary, humane society or other animal-related experience.
Responsibilities include e-mail and telephone correspondence, computer operation, scheduling appointments, setting up new clients and patients, preparation and maintenance of medical records, contribution to the education of clients on the needs of their pets, admitting and discharging patients, filling prescriptions, handling financial transactions, retail sales, filing, and front office and reception area maintenance.
CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIANS

The certified veterinary technician at Best Friends Veterinary Center is a valuable asset to our clinic. If you wish to have your skills well utilized and appreciated, a position at the Best Friends Veterinary Center may be an excellent opportunity for you!
Technicians are responsible for anesthesia, patient monitoring and post-operative care using the most sophisticated equipment available to the veterinary profession. Technicians assist in dental procedures, surgery, laser surgery, nursing care, medical and laboratory procedures, pharmacy management and radiology, admitting and discharging of surgical patients, client communications and canine rehabilitation.
VETERINARY ASSISTANT
* POSITION AVAILABLE - Beginning in June *
The veterinary assistant is a key position at Best Friends Veterinary Center. Interested individuals must be willing and able to learn about veterinary facts and procedures, have great client communication skills, excellent computer/telephone skills, able to handle/restrain animals and also maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, surgical and medical equipment. The Veterinary assistant is also responsible for pharmacy duties including counting and tracking of medications. The assistant reviews medical history before appointments, greets clients and patients and leads them into the exam room. They assist technicians and doctors with necessary treatments of patients including restraint, radiographs, euthanasia and anesthesia. They are also responsible for entering medical history into the computer system and following up with clients. Must be available some evenings, some Saturdays and have some veterinary, humane society or other animal-related experience.
KENNEL ATTENDANT
* POSITION AVAILABLE – Beginning in June *
Kennel attendants are essential staff members at Best Friends Veterinary Center. Kennel attendants are responsible for feeding, bathing, walking, medicating patients and cleaning kennels. They observe and report to technicians or doctors any and all problems of hospitalized or boarding pets. They also learn proper handling and restraint of animals, are responsible for cleaning and upkeep of the clinic and assist technicians and doctors with necessary treatment of animals. They also assist the technicians or assistants with upkeep and maintenance of surgical and medical equipment and assist in maintaining medical and boarding records.
