Elisa Horsch, DVM

Elisa Horsch has practiced at Best Friends Veterinary Center since July of 2004.  She was born in California , spent her early childhood in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan , and grew up in St. Louis , Missouri .  She went to Hendrix College in Arkansas , where she studied to be a tropical ecologist.  Dr. Horsch spent the year after college working full time as a botanist at the Missouri Botanical Gardens, and took a part time veterinary assistant job, where she realized that she wanted to spend her life caring for animals and the people that love them.

Several short months later she found herself facing a daunting task; Veterinary School .  While these four years were extremely challenging, Dr. Horsch graduated in May of 2004.  Along the way, she acquired 2 fabulous cats (George and Gracie) as well as her wonderful husband, Dana, who now works as a veterinarian in Cedar Grove.  They also have a dachshund (Genie) and a Terrier mix (Charlie).

Dr. Horsch is very excited to be here at Best Friends Veterinary center - after interviewing at numerous practices around the state, she knows that the staff, facilities, and clients at Best Friends are second to none! 

In her free time, Elisa enjoys many activities.  She is a sports enthusiast (especially soccer and Judo), loves reading anything she can find, cooking, travel, and making stained glass. 

Special interests: Canine and feline behavior, dermatology.
