Our Great Staff

Amy L

Amy, C.V.T.: Amy is a Certified Veterinary Technician who also has a B.S. in Biology from UW-Milwaukee.  She started in the veterinary field while going to college and became a Certified Technician in 2001.  She joined the BFVC team in 2006.  Amy currently does not have pets because she has two young kids.  Her daughter Greta was born in 2008 and her son Odin was born in 2010.  She has plans on getting another dog when her kids are older, which will be a very happy day for Greta since she asks for a dog every day.  In her spare time, which is few and far between these days, she enjoys hiking, biking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Cindy

Cindy, C.V.T: Cindy is a Certified Veterinary Technician, who has worked in the veterinary field for over 25 years.  Her professional interests include inventory management, nutrition, nursing care, surgery, physical therapy and canine rehabilitation.  She also has experience in wildlife rehabilitation.  In her time off, she enjoys biking, hiking and doing agility with her Australian Shepherd, Macy and spending time with her 2 cats, Squeak and Rascal.

Jaeger

Jen: Jen is a part-time pet care attendant/assistant. She holds a bachelors degree in Biology and is very interested in behavior. Jen attends many obedience and agility classes with her two Dobermans, Damien and Sheba. She also spends time relaxing with her two cats, Charlotte and Raven.

Julie

Julie:  Julie is a Client Relations Specialist who joined the Best Friends team in April 2011.  She has a degree in Mass Communication and worked for Verizon Wireless for nearly a decade.  A growing interest in animal rights, animal cruelty, and animal welfare caused her to make a drastic career change and move into the “animal field.”  She worked at Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists for one year prior to joining our team.  In her spare time Julie enjoys playing with her two dogs, Ginger, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Lola, a Great Dane.  She also volunteers for the Humane Society and loves to travel.

KathyM

Kathy: I have been the Office Manager at Best Friends Veterinary Center since 2006 and a member of the Best Friend’s team since September 2003.  I have worked in the veterinary field for over 30 years and previously worked at Wauwatosa Veterinary Clinic and Shorewood Animal Hospital.  I enjoy spending time with my family & friends.  I have been “blessed” with 2 grandbabies, who are the joys of my life. In my spare time, I enjoy babysitting for my grandbabies, traveling, gardening, reading & spending time at the cottage with the whole family.

Katie

Katie: Katie joined Best Friends in 2008 as a full time client relations specialist.  She has a bachelors degree in Animal Science from UW-River Falls and throughout her schooling worked for several veterinary clinics, and has always been very involved with animals.  Katie and her husband, Craig, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Anna, in October 2011.  Katie decided to be a part time stay-at-home mom to Anna and her step-daughter, Olivia, after her birth so she is now working with Best Friends on a part-time basis as the File/Food Manager.  Katie and her family also enjoy spending time with their chocolate lab, Omar, who they got as a puppy in June, 2011.

Kimberly, C.V.T.: Kimberly is a Certified Veterinary Technician that joined the Best Friends Veterinary Center team in January 2010. In 2007 she graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Madison Area Technical College and started her career working in a few clinics with varying specialties. She’s worked with dental specialty veterinarians, veterinarians specializing in exotic animal care, and with practices that offered both small and large animal services. After living in the Madison area for several years she moved back to Sheboygan where she grew up and lives with her menagerie of pets. She has 3 dogs: Saylor (German Shepherd/Alaskan Malamute), Duckey (Miniature Dachshund), and Skittles (Cairn Terrier). She also has 2 cats, Dexter & Skeeter, as well as an African Grey Parrot, Hannah. In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking her dogs, spending time with family and friends, and working with her two horses, Sera (Anglo-Arabian) and Vinnie (American Paint Horse).

Megan

Megan: Megan is a Client Relations Specialist and has been with BFVC since 2003.  Prior to joining the Best Friends team, she worked for an animal hospital in Illinois.  She loves to share her knowledge gained from working at BFVC.  Megan enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends, family and two fantastic cats: Mow Mow and Miss Puss.

Missy

Missy: Missy began working for Dr. Boss in 1994. As a Client Relations Specialist she enjoys making sure your visit to our hospital meets your needs and exceeds your expectations. Missy has 2 pets, a Cockatiel named “Winston” and a Leopard Gecko named “Isabel”. She also works as an EMT for Grafton Fire Department.

Ryann

Ryanne: Ryanne is a part-time assistant who has worked at BFVC since 2003.  She has worked in the veterinary field since 1994.  Ryanne spends the other half of her time working at the Milwaukee County Zoo teaching education programs to school children.  In her spare time she enjoys pet assisted therapy with Buddy, playing softball, swing dancing, gardening, and hanging out with her husband, two cats, Figaro and Rocky and two dogs, Buddy (Papillion/Golden Retriever mix) and Reba (German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix).

Una and Tess

Una: Una is our Kennel Caretaker Manager.  She’s the person who makes sure your pet is well cared for (and spoiled) while boarding with us.  She moved from California to be closer to her family and brings 24 years of veterinary experience with her.  She has previously worked primarily in specialty practices that focused on canine reproduction, internal medicine and oncology.  She has a mixed-breed dog (Doberman, German Shepherd, Australian Shepherd, and Great Pyrenees) named Tessa and two cats, Walter and Otis.  In her free time she enjoys reading, traveling, sewing, going to movies, and spending time with her friends and family.  She recently started agility classes with Tessa and they both really enjoy it!
