GDV & von Willebrand's in Dobermans

Doberman pinschers have the highest risk of any breed for the blood clotting disorder called von Willebrand’s Disease. They also are at high risk for Gastric Dilatation & Volvulus, known as GDV or bloat. Before spaying or neutering a Doberman, consideration should be given to DNA testing for von Willebrand’s and stomach tacking to prevent GDV. Other dog breeds also can develop these diseases and if your dog is one of them you’ll want to watch this video!
